Adani Green unveils ambitious 45 GW renewable energy push in India by 2030
AdaniGreen unveiled plans to deploy ambitious 45 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity in India by 2030.
In a significant stride towards sustainable energy, Gautam Adani's conglomerate is spearheading the construction of the world's largest renewable energy park in Gujarat, India. This ambitious project aims to generate a remarkable 45 gigawatts (GW) of electricity, primarily through solar power. During the inauguration of the 'Energy Revolution: The Adani Green Energy Gallery' at London's Science Museum, Gautam Adani, the chairman of the Adani Group, introduced the group's renewable energy arm, Adani Green Energy, as the driving force behind this transition. He underscored the company's dedication to safeguarding the planet not only for the current generation but also for future generations.
At the heart of this initiative lies the Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat, covering an extensive area of 538 square kilometres – more than five times the size of Paris. This colossal park is set to have a generation capacity of 30 GW, making it the largest of its kind globally. The project signifies a pivotal step towards reducing reliance on fossil fuels and embracing cleaner, sustainable energy sources. It exemplifies India's commitment to combating climate change and transitioning towards a greener, more environmentally conscious future.
