IDV, part of the Iveco Group, has signed a €755 million contract with the Italian Ministry of Defence to supply 1,453 tactical-logistic trucks to the Italian Army.
IDV, the Iveco Group brand specializing in defense and civil protection equipment, has secured a contract with the Direzione Armamenti Terrestri (DAT) of the Italian Ministry of Defence to supply 1,453 tactical-logistic trucks.
The vehicles, slated for delivery between 2025 and 2038, mark a significant step in the renewal and modernization of the Italian Army’s tactical-logistic vehicle fleet. The total value of the contract is €755 million (Rs 6,634 crore).
The agreement covers the supply of various military logistic platforms based on the new IDV truck range, all equipped with tactical cabins. These vehicles, which will be produced at the Iveco Group’s Piacenza plant, will be delivered in multiple configurations, including troop and material transport, water and fuel tankers, container carriers, recovery vehicles, and towing systems. This diverse range ensures strong logistical commonality across platforms. These next-generation vehicles offer exceptional mobility, safety, maneuverability, and reliability for military operations.
