Musk’s Grok-1.5 AI chatbot will be available next week.
Elon Musk's xAI to release Grok-1.5 chatbot on social platform X, aiming to rival OpenAI & Google. Grok 2 in development. Open-source move announced.
Elon Musk announced on his social media platform X that xAI, his artificial intelligence startup, will be releasing its latest Grok-1.5 chatbot next week. Musk stated that Grok 2, currently undergoing training, is expected to surpass existing AI capabilities across all measures.
xAI further elaborated in a statement on Thursday that Grok-1.5, an upgraded version of its chatbot Grok, will soon be accessible to early testers and existing Grok users on X. This announcement comes after Musk declared earlier this month that xAI would make Grok open-source, following a legal dispute with Microsoft-backed OpenAI, which Musk accused of veering away from its original mission towards a profit-driven approach.
Musk launched xAI last year to compete against industry giants like OpenAI and Alphabet’s Google.
