SIP inflows cross ₹20,000 crore for the first time in April.
April 2024 marks a milestone as SIP contributions breach ₹20,000 crore for the first time.
In April 2024, the Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) saw a historic milestone, surpassing ₹20,000 crore for the first time. Data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) reveals that SIP contributions soared to a record ₹20,371.47 crore, exceeding the previous month's ₹19,270.96 crore.
This surge in SIP investments has bolstered the industry's Net Asset Under Management (AUM), which rose to ₹57.26 lakh crore in April 2024, up from March 2024's ₹53.40 lakh crore.
The uptick in new SIP registrations highlights the increasing enthusiasm among investors for mutual fund opportunities. April 2024 saw a total of 63.65 lakh new SIPs registered.
Venkat Chalasani, Chief Executive of AMFI, commented on these developments, stating, "The Mutual Fund Industry has experienced remarkable growth, with SIP contributions reaching ₹20,371.47 crore and total SIP AUM hitting ₹11.26 lakh crore in April 2024. Moreover, the number of SIP accounts has reached a new pinnacle of 8.70 crore."
