Britain's Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle visit Nigeria.

Upon their arrival in Abuja, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were enthusiastically greeted by fans in Nigeria. According to a report from the Independent, the couple warmly engaged with admirers, taking selfies, interacting with schoolchildren, and sharing jovial moments with teachers as they kicked off their three-day tour. Harry and Meghan have embarked on a short journey to Nigeria with the aim of promoting sportsmanship in Africa.

Their itinerary includes a visit to a school, meetings with injured service members, and attendance at basketball and polo matches, all leading up to an evening gala. While the 39-year-old Duke of Sussex returned to the UK on Tuesday afternoon to partake in a service at St. Paul's Cathedral commemorating the Invictus milestone, Charles hosted guests at Buckingham Palace's inaugural garden party of the year nearby. Harry, a former army captain who piloted helicopters in Afghanistan, founded the Invictus Games in 2014. Since its inception, the event has significantly contributed to rehabilitation through sports.

At the invitation of Nigeria's military leadership, Harry visited Abuja, where he met with Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa. Musa praised the positive impact of Nigerian troops' involvement in the previous year's Invictus Games in Germany. "When I saw them at Invictus and saw them smiling and their faces lit up — they thought the world had forgotten about them, but I could see they felt appreciated," he remarked during the meeting in Abuja.

Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace announced on Friday that King Charles III will resume his public duties next week following a hiatus for cancer treatment, as reported by AP.

The monarch temporarily withdrew from public appearances nearly three months ago to prioritize his health. The palace disclosed that Charles would visit a cancer treatment center on Tuesday, marking the beginning of several upcoming engagements. Among these commitments is the hosting of a state visit by the emperor and empress of Japan scheduled for June.
