Mother's Day celebrations boost quick commerce sales across India.

Consumer spending on quick commerce platforms experiences a surge driven by Mother's Day festivities throughout India. Recent data from platforms such as Zomato, Swiggy Instamart, Blinkit, and Zepto unveil shifts in consumer preferences, indicating heightened demand for various products on Sunday, May 12th. Analysis from these platforms highlights a notable increase in orders for items like jewelry, plants, flowers, and chocolates.

Zomato notes that Mother's Day sales volumes surpass those of New Year's Eve for the first time. More than 200,000 users have utilized Zomato's novel AI feature, enabling customers to include personalized celebrity video messages with their orders, since its introduction.

According to Swiggy Instamart, sales figures show that 143 chocolates and 41 cards are being sold every minute today. The platform observes a 141% surge in orders for handbags, perfumes, and watches, setting a new record for daily orders. Furthermore, orders for jewelry have surged by 11.4 times compared to the previous week. Sales of plants as gifts have increased by 7.7 times compared to a typical Sunday.

Additionally, Blinkit, a quick commerce platform owned by Zomato, reports an increase in handbag sales compared to regular days. The company has also distributed complimentary fridge magnets specially crafted for Mother's Day.
