FIFA collaborates with the WHO for a worldwide concussion initiative.

On Wednesday, FIFA and the World Health Organization (WHO) launched a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about concussions, developed in collaboration with brain health experts. The campaign, titled "Suspect and Protect: No Match is Worth the Risk," focuses on the dangers of traumatic brain injuries and provides valuable resources. FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized, "By recognizing the signs of concussion, understanding the risks, and managing concussions properly, we can prioritize player safety."

In March, the International Football Association Board (IFAB) approved permanent concussion substitutes following a successful trial, which was implemented in this year's Copa America.

WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus highlighted the need for increased awareness about concussions across all levels of the sport, stating, "WHO is proud to collaborate with FIFA to promote measures that protect footballers' brain health."
