Tata Motors announced on Monday that it has received a substantial contract from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) to provide 1,000 Tata LPO 1618 diesel bus chassis. The Indian automaker noted that this order was won through a competitive e-bidding process, in line with the Government's official tendering procedures.

Anand S, Vice President and Head of Tata Motors' Commercial Passenger Vehicle Business, stated: "We are excited to continue our partnership with UPSRTC in their mission to expand and enhance public transport. The Tata LPO 1618 bus chassis is designed for robust and reliable mobility, offering high uptime along with low maintenance and operating costs." The delivery of the bus chassis will occur in phases, as agreed upon by Tata Motors and UPSRTC.

This new order comes after Tata Motors completed a larger contract for 1,350 bus chassis for UPSRTC, which are already in service and have played a vital role in improving public transport across the state.

Tata Motors emphasizes that its LPO 1618 chassis is specifically designed to meet the needs of intercity and long-distance travel, providing strong performance, passenger comfort, and a low total cost of ownership in both urban and rural areas.
