On Monday, Adani Green Energy revealed a strategy to guarantee the early redemption of its USD 750 million bonds, accomplishing this eight months prior to their scheduled maturity. This move is aimed at enhancing investor confidence in the company's financial stability. The Adani Group entity had initially raised USD 750 million through the issuance of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) set to mature in September of the current year. In an official statement, the company, Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), outlined the redemption plan specifically for the USD 750 million 4.375 notes due on September 9, 2024 (Holdco Notes).

AGEL disclosed that a sum of USD 169 million has been allocated through reserve accounts and internal accruals, with an additional USD 300 million recently invested by TotalEnergies through a joint venture. The remaining USD 281 million has been secured via a promoter preferential allotment. Consequently, the entire amount of the USD 750 million Holdco Notes is now fully secured eight months ahead of its scheduled maturity date. AGEL, recognized as India's largest and a global leader in renewable energy solutions, specializes in the development, ownership, and operation of utility-scale grid-connected solar, wind, and hybrid renewable power plants.

Presently, the company boasts an operational renewable portfolio of 8.4 GW spread across 12 states, effectively offsetting over 41 million tonnes of CO2 emissions cumulatively.
