December 2023 sounds like an exciting month for Indian cinema enthusiasts, with the releases of Sam Bahadur and Animal. The teaser of Animal, in particular, has generated a lot of buzz for its intensity and is trending at the top spot on YouTube. Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal of a scion of a wealthy family turning to a life of crime after the death of his father, played by Anil Kapoor, has captured the audience's attention. The combination of Ranbir Kapoor's intensity, impactful background music, and the presence of Bobby Deol has heightened anticipation for the film. Ranbir Kapoor's success at the box office, following Shah Rukh Khan, marks him as a superstar with significant openings in both 2022 and 2023. It seems like Indian cinema enthusiasts have a lot to look forward to in the coming month!

Did Ranbir Kapoor slash his fee for the film?

Ranbir Kapoor's decision to take a significant pay cut for Animal showcases his commitment to enhancing the film's production value. Reportedly reducing his fee by 50%, from a rumored Rs 70 crores to a cheque of Rs 30 to 35 crores, Ranbir Kapoor aimed to allocate more resources towards the gangster thriller drama. This move not only reflects his dedication to the project but also a collaborative effort to ensure the film's success. Additionally, if Animal proves to be a box office hit, Ranbir Kapoor stands to gain a share of the profits, aligning his interests with the film's overall success. It's a strategic and cooperative approach that showcases his passion for the craft and the film itself.

Ranbir Kapoor takes Sunny Deol's route for Gadar 2

It's interesting to see how some Bollywood stars, including Sunny Deol, Shah Rukh Khan, and now Ranbir Kapoor, are opting for lower fees to prioritize the production quality of their films. This strategic decision allows more resources to be invested in the filmmaking process, enhancing the overall product. The approach seems to be gaining traction in the industry, as seen with successful films like Kabir Singh and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.

In the case of Animal, being Ranbir Kapoor's second film of the year after the success of Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar, it'll be intriguing to see how this unique combination of talent and strategic financial decisions translates into the film's performance and reception among audiences. The focus on quality over individual paychecks reflects a commitment to delivering memorable cinematic experiences.

The makers moved Animal to December 1 from August 11, 2023. We know that was a super packed date with films like Gadar 2, OMG 2, and Rajinikanth's blockbuster Jailer. Sandeep Reddy Vanga said it was because of post-production. It will be released in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. Rashmika Maddanne is the leading lady in the movie.
