PM Modi's Sandeshkhali reminder to Mamata in Coochbehar: ‘Culprits will spend life in jail’
PM Modi accuses TMC of protecting Sandeshkhali culprits, pledges justice. Thanks Mamata in Coochbehar rally for smoother event.
In a recent public rally in Coochbehar, West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), of shielding the culprits involved in the Sandeshkhali incident.
He emphasized that while the TMC protected the wrongdoers, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was focused on empowering women and ensuring justice for the victims. Modi stated that those responsible for the Sandeshkhali incident would be punished and highlighted that only the BJP could stop the injustices faced by women in Bengal, urging the people to strengthen the party in the state.
Modi's comments came from a rally where both he and Mamata Banerjee were campaigning for their respective parties. Despite their political differences, Modi thanked Banerjee and the West Bengal government, noting that during his previous visit in 2019, there were physical obstructions created by the TMC, which he attributed to his party's subsequent electoral success in the region.
He expressed gratitude that such obstacles were absent this time, allowing for a smoother rally experience. The contrasting approaches of the two parties, with the BJP focusing on justice and empowerment while the TMC faces criticism for its handling of the Sandeshkhali incident, underscore the competitive nature of the ongoing political campaigns in West Bengal.
