This project marks Fardeen Khan's return to acting after a 14-year hiatus. During the trailer launch, Fardeen expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the talented cast. Speaking about his comeback, Fardeen Khan became emotional, stating, "It's been a very long gap for me, almost 14 years.
I'm extremely grateful for this opportunity to work with this stellar star cast and a platform like Netflix, and of course, the man himself, Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I couldn't have hoped for a better opportunity as an actor to return to the screen." Describing his character, Wali Mohammad, Fardeen Khan revealed him to be a "true romantic," emphasizing that despite his power and wealth, Wali Mohammad's heart remained pure, with love being the focus of his life. He added, "For Wali Mohammad, he didn't allow the power, ambition, status, and wealth to corrupt his heart. He kept his heart intact and for him, love was the focus of his life.

Heeramandi features an ensemble cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, Taha Shah, Shekhar Suman, and Adhyayan Suman.
