Maidaan, Ajay Devgn's latest Bollywood venture, took a noticeable dip in its box office collection on its second day of release. The film, which revolves around the golden era of Indian football, managed to accumulate ₹9.85 crore net in its two-day stint, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The movie, which hit the screens on April 11, Eid 2024, earned ₹4.5 crore net on its opening day. However, on the following day, it saw a 38.89% drop, raking in ₹2.75 crore net. The film's preview shows on April 10 brought in ₹2.6 crore net.
In terms of global business, Maidaan gathered ₹8.4 crore gross in the domestic market and ₹2 crore gross overseas, totalling ₹10.4 crores gross worldwide in its first two days. Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Maidaan stars Ajay Devgn as Syed Abdul Rahim, showcasing his relentless commitment to Indian football from 1952 to 1962. The film also features Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh. Produced by Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla, the movie is backed by Zee Studios. The production house claimed on its Instagram handle that Maidaan grossed ₹10.70 crore worldwide on its opening day.
