Mumbai was recently rattled by an alarming incident involving two men captured on CCTV firing gunshots outside the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan. According to police sources, these individuals are suspected of hailing from Haryana's Gurugram and are believed to be affiliated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang. One of the suspects, Vishal, is said to have ties with another notorious member of the gang, Rohit Godara, known for his involvement in various violent crimes.

The incident, which occurred on a Sunday, has raised significant concerns regarding the safety and security of public figures, especially those in the entertainment industry. The CCTV footage revealed that both suspects were wearing caps and carrying backpacks. One of them was dressed in a white t-shirt, a black jacket, and denim pants, while the other wore a red t-shirt with denim pants.

Before the attack, the suspects conducted a reconnaissance mission near Galaxy Apartments, Salman Khan's residence. After abandoning their motorcycle, which may have been stolen, near Mount Mary Church in Bandra, the suspects managed to evade capture by taking a rickshaw to Bandra railway station. They have since left the city and are currently on the run, according to police reports.

Anmol Bishnoi, Lawrence Bishnoi's brother, claimed responsibility for the attack in an online post, referring to it as a "preview" and issuing a warning to the Bollywood actor. In response, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured Salman Khan of unwavering support and a commitment to upholding the rule of law. This incident is not the first time Salman Khan has faced threats. Last year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed that the actor topped the list of 10 main targets planned for elimination by Lawrence Bishnoi.

This was allegedly in retaliation for Salman Khan's involvement in the infamous 1998 black buck hunting incident, which Bishnoi deemed offensive to the Bishnoi community. The heightened security concerns surrounding Salman Khan led Mumbai Police to elevate his security status to Y+ following a threat call made in April last year. Additionally, an Indian student in the United Kingdom was issued a lookout circular (LOC) for allegedly sending a threatening email to Salman Khan. These incidents highlight the ongoing security challenges faced by public figures, especially those with a high profile in the entertainment industry.
