He made his debut in the film industry in 1966 as a co-producer of the film "Mamatheya Bandhana" under the banner of Thunga Pictures. Despite holding a diploma in mechanical engineering, Dwarakish was drawn to the world of cinema and decided to pursue a career in acting and filmmaking.
Throughout his career, Dwarakish acted in around 100 films and produced and directed nearly 50 movies.
