Auto components major Bharat Forge Ltd, announced a substantial 77.8 percent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 227.12 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2024, primarily driven by heightened sales. This compares to a consolidated net profit of Rs 127.74 crore reported in the same period of the previous fiscal year, as stated by Bharat Forge Ltd (BFL) in a regulatory disclosure.
During the fourth quarter, consolidated revenue from operations rose to Rs 4,164.21 crore, up from Rs 3,629.05 crore in the corresponding period a year earlier, the filing indicated. Total expenses in the fourth quarter increased to Rs 3,843.55 crore compared to Rs 3,469.05 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
In a meeting held on May 8, 2024, the Board of Directors proposed a final dividend of Rs 6.50 per equity share with a face value of Rs 2 for the financial year ending March 31, 2024, subject to approval at the upcoming annual general meeting, BFL stated. For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, consolidated net profit amounted to Rs 910.16 crore, up from Rs 508.39 crore in the preceding fiscal year, the filing added.
The filing also disclosed that consolidated revenue from operations for FY24 stood at Rs 15,682.07 crore, compared to Rs 12,910.26 crore in FY23.
