Zomato turns profitable, reporting Rs 175 crore net profit in March quarter, with revenue rising.
Zomato Ltd announced a consolidated net profit of Rs 175 crore for the March quarter, reflecting a significant turnaround from the Rs 188 crore net loss reported in the corresponding quarter last fiscal year, according to a regulatory filing. Revenue from operations surged to Rs 3,562 crore from Rs 2,056 crore a year earlier, while total expenses rose to Rs 3,636 crore compared to Rs 2,431 crore in the same period last year.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, Zomato recorded a consolidated net profit of Rs 351 crore, a marked improvement from the Rs 971 crore net loss posted in the previous fiscal year. Consolidated revenue for FY24 reached Rs 12,114 crore, up from Rs 7,079 crore in FY23.
The filing noted that the results for FY24 are not directly comparable to FY23 due to the acquisition of Blink Commerce Pvt Ltd (formerly Grofers India Pvt Ltd) in June 2022.
