5-year-old boy found dead in drain inside Patna school; mob sets building on fire
Tragic discovery of a 5-year-old's body at a Patna school sparks protests. Murder case filed, 3 detained. Outrage grows as community seeks justice.
In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the city of Patna, a five-year-old boy was discovered dead within the premises of a private school on Thursday evening. The heartbreaking discovery has sparked outrage, leading to protests erupting across the city on Friday. Roads were blocked, traffic came to a standstill, and a portion of the school was even set ablaze by angered citizens.
According to reports, a murder case has been registered in connection with the incident, with authorities detaining three individuals for questioning. The events unfolded on Thursday morning when the young boy left for school at 6 am as per his routine. However, concerns arose when he failed to return home by 2 pm, the usual time for his departure after additional coaching sessions. Alarmed by his absence, the child's parents and relatives launched a frantic search. By 7 pm, with no sign of the child, they turned to the police for assistance.
CCTV footage from the school revealed the boy heading in a particular direction but not returning. Subsequently, the school administration initiated a search operation, eventually discovering his lifeless body in a sewage drain near one of the classrooms. Shockingly, allegations emerged from the police complaint filed by the boy's parents, suggesting negligence on the part of the school administration. It was claimed that instead of seeking medical attention for the unconscious child, certain individuals within the school allegedly assumed him to be dead and disposed of his body in the drain.
Amidst the grief and anger, the school management has remained silent, refraining from issuing any official statement regarding the tragic incident. Meanwhile, on Friday morning, approximately 50 individuals gathered to express their outrage, resulting in the torching of a section of the school premises. Patna Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajeev Mishra, confirmed the lodging of a murder case and assured swift action, with three individuals already detained for interrogation. Additionally, a separate FIR is set to be filed against locals involved in the arson, citing breaches of law and order.
The entire community is left reeling from the loss of a young life under such distressing circumstances. As investigations continue and authorities work to bring those responsible to justice, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the critical need for safety measures and accountability within educational institutions. The mourning family, along with the wider public, seeks answers and justice for the innocent child whose promising future was tragically cut short.
