Maruti Suzuki, India's leading carmaker, announces a ₹5,000 reduction in prices for Auto Gear Shift (AGS) variants across its lineup, effective immediately.
On June 1, 2024, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the largest carmaker in India, announced a reduction in prices for its Auto Gear Shift (AGS) variants across various models, slashing them by ₹5,000 per unit. This price adjustment applies to models such as Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, Wagon-R, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Fronx, and Ignis. The company stated that the new prices would take effect immediately, as detailed in a regulatory filing.
Earlier this year, Maruti Suzuki had increased prices for Swift and certain Grand Vitara variants due to escalating commodity prices. Swift prices were raised by up to ₹25,000, while the Grand Vitara Sigma variant saw an increase of ₹19,000.
The company had previously announced a price hike across its entire lineup, citing a 0.45% increase, attributing it to rising cost pressures fueled by inflation and escalating commodity prices.
