IRFC share price hits a record high of ₹200; Stock gains 100% in 2024 so far.

Shares of Indian Railways Finance Corporation (IRFC) Ltd. reached an all-time high on Monday, surging by as much as 13% during early trading. The stock soared to ₹200, surpassing its previous peak of ₹192.8 recorded on January 23 of this year. Monday's rally marked a remarkable 100% increase in the stock's value since the beginning of 2024. Notably, IRFC shares experienced a notable uptrend, climbing 10% in April and 13% in May, following a period of underperformance in February and March. January 2024 stood out as the most successful month in IRFC's history, witnessing a staggering 75% surge in its stock price.

Having debuted as the first IPO of 2021 at ₹26, IRFC has since witnessed a remarkable ascent, now trading nearly 7 times higher than its IPO price, with a remarkable surge of over 300% in 2023 alone. With its current valuation, the company boasts a market capitalization of ₹2.6 lakh crore, surpassing the valuation of at least 20 companies listed in the Nifty 50 index. Earlier, IRFC announced a final dividend of ₹0.7 per share, supplementing an interim dividend of ₹0.8 per share declared earlier, totaling a payout of ₹1.5 per share for the fiscal year 2024.

The recently declared dividend awaits approval from shareholders at the company's Annual General Meeting (AGM), with the government holding an 86.36% stake in IRFC.

In addition to its financial results, IRFC's board has authorized raising funds of up to ₹50,000 crore from both domestic and international markets, utilizing a combination of tax-free bonds, taxable bonds through private placement or public issuance, contingent upon market conditions and the funding necessities of the Indian Railways.
