Shooter Manu Bhaker made history on Tuesday by becoming India's second female athlete to win multiple Olympic medals. She achieved this milestone by securing the bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event alongside her fellow shooter, Sarabjot Singh, at the ongoing Paris Olympics. The Indian pair triumphed over South Korea's Oh Ye Jin and Lee Wonho, winning the match 16-10.
Following their victory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Manu and Sarabjot on X (formerly Twitter). Last week, Bhaker also won bronze in the women's 10m Air Pistol event, marking India's first medal of the Games.
Our shooters continue to make us proud!

Bhaker's achievement follows in the footsteps of badminton legend PV Sindhu, who won silver in the women's singles event at the 2016 Rio Olympics and bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Bhaker is also the second Indian, after Norman Pritchard, to win two Olympic medals in a single edition of the Games. Pritchard, a British-Indian athlete, represented pre-independent India at the 1900 Paris Olympics, winning silver in the 200m sprint and 200m hurdles.
