Mahindra has launched the BE 6e electric SUV in India, priced at ₹18.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mahindra Unveils BE 6e Electric SUV: Mahindra has launched the BE 6e electric SUV in India, with an introductory price of ₹18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in February 2025, marking a significant step in the company's commitment to electric mobility.
First Model from the BE Sub-Brand: The BE 6e is the inaugural vehicle from Mahindra's BE sub-brand, which focuses exclusively on electric vehicles. This range combines cutting-edge technology with innovative design, as seen in the earlier BE.07 and BE.09 concept vehicles. The BE 6e features a length of 4,371 mm, width of 1,907 mm, height of 1,627 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,775 mm.
Exterior Design Inspired by Concepts: The BE 6e carries over much of the bold design from the BE.05 concept, with U-shaped LED daytime running lights, a sleek coupe-style roofline, and pronounced wheel arches. However, it has some adjustments for production, such as replacing camera-based mirrors with traditional ones and repositioning the flush door handles for practicality.
Aerodynamic Rear Design: The rear of the BE 6e showcases LED taillights linked by a horizontal lightbar, enhancing its distinctive look. A split spoiler and bumper-integrated diffuser contribute to improved aerodynamics, while air ducts channel airflow through the bonnet for better performance.
Futuristic Interior Features: Inside, the BE 6e offers a high-tech, driver-focused layout, featuring dual 12.3-inch screens—one for the digital instrument cluster and another for the infotainment system. The cabin’s wraparound console creates a cockpit-like feel, emphasizing modern design.
Comfort and Convenience Features: The BE 6e is equipped with a range of features to ensure a comfortable ride, including dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. It also supports 5G connectivity and includes built-in Wi-Fi.
Battery Options and Performance: Built on Mahindra's INGLO platform, the BE 6e offers two battery choices: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. The smaller battery powers a motor producing 225 BHP and 380 Nm of torque, while the larger 79 kWh battery drives a motor with 277 BHP, maintaining the same torque output. The BE 6e accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The 79 kWh variant boasts an ARAI-certified range of 682 km. Charging is efficient, with a 175 kW DC fast charger capable of charging 20-80% in just 20 minutes.
Safety and Driving Performance: Mahindra has equipped the BE 6e with advanced safety features, including seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The SUV also incorporates regenerative braking, semi-active suspension, and brake-by-wire technology for enhanced handling and safety.
