Star wrestlers, including the 13-time WWE champion John Cena, along with Indian talents like Jinder Mahal ('Veer Mahan'), Indus Sher, 'The Ring General' Gunther, and Natalya, thrilled the crowd with their in-ring performances. Notably, this marked only the second WWE live event in India, with Mumbai hosting the first-ever one in 2017.
The 'Superstar Spectacle' event truly lived up to its name. The highlight of the night was when John Cena, the face of the WWE universe and an undisputed star, teamed up with Seth Rollins for the main event, delighting the packed stadium. Additionally, retired Indian wrestler 'The Great Khali' made a special appearance.
Before the event, Indian wrestlers expressed their excitement about performing in front of their home crowd. Former champion Jinder Mahal shared his enthusiasm, stating, "We are thrilled to come to India. This is huge for us, to come home and perform in front of our audience. The city is great. The biggest challenge is to be motivated year after year. New young talent in WWE keeps us motivated. It comes from within, setting your goals, and finding reasons why you represent WWE, your country, heritage. Well, the support has been incredible. I am all excited to be here."
Drew McIntyre expressed his excitement about visiting India for the first time and acknowledged the passionate WWE fan base in the country, saying, "I am so excited. I know how crazy the fans here are. I can see it on my social media. There is a huge following. We had great experiences in 2017."
Indian wrestler Shanky, who stands at 7 feet tall, described the experience as a dream come true, stating, "I am very happy to be back home. We have been waiting for this to happen for a long time." He also shared insights into his journey to the top, highlighting the challenges he faced, and praised Jinder Mahal for being a mentor.
Offering advice to aspiring young Indian wrestlers, Shanky emphasized the importance of staying focused and working hard, stating, "There is a bright future for young Indian wrestlers, but they need to stay focused and work really hard."
