Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary on October 31, 2023. He visited the Statue of Unity in Gujarat and paid floral tribute to Patel. He also administered the oath of unity to the gathering at a function held at Kevadia in Narmada district.

In his address, PM Modi remembered Patel's visionary statesmanship and the extraordinary dedication with which he shaped the destiny of India. He said that Patel's commitment to national integration continues to guide the citizens.

PM Modi also launched multiple development projects worth Rs 160 crore on the occasion.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was one of the founding fathers of India and is known as the "Iron Man of India" for his role in unifying the country after independence. He was the first Home Minister of India and played a key role in integrating the princely states into the Indian Union.
