Canada - India: Indian envoy's sharp response to Canada's allegation
In the midst of a diplomatic dispute between Canada and India over allegations, the Indian envoy delivered a pointed and robust response.
Sanjay Kumar Verma, speaking to CTV News Channel, expressed that India is prepared to thoroughly examine any "specific and pertinent" evidence supporting Justin Trudeau's allegations.
The Indian High Commissioner, Sanjay Kumar Verma, has reiterated his call for Canada to provide evidence supporting its allegations related with the killing of pro-Khalistan militant Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Earlier this year, a significant diplomatic dispute arose between India and Canada following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's accusation of potential involvement by the Indian government in Nijjar's murder. It's worth noting that India had designated Nijjar as a terrorist in 2020.

Earlier this month, in a conversation with The Globe and Mail, Verma emphasized that Canada and its allies have not presented tangible evidence regarding Nijjar's death. Verma stated to the Canadian daily, "No specific or pertinent information has been provided in this case for us to aid them in the investigation."
Why is India not cooperating in an investigation after Prime Minister Trudeau alleged India may be involved in the killing of a Sikh separatist leader on Canadian soil?
