सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने उपराज्यपाल से अनुरोध किया कि वे फरिश्ते योजना को लेकर दिल्ली सरकार के साथ विवाद पर अपना रुख बताएं।

On Friday, the Supreme Court directed Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena to clarify his position regarding the halt in funds for the Delhi government's Farishtey scheme, which pledges free medical treatment for victims of road accidents. The Court emphasized that if it is discovered that the Delhi government misled the Court, substantial costs would be imposed as a deterrent. The Court addressed a petition filed by the Delhi government against the L-G, alleging that the suspension of funds for the scheme over the past year had led to outstanding dues of ₹7.17 crore owed to private hospitals. On December 8, the Supreme Court had issued a notice on the petition and requested a response from the L-G, acknowledging that the Farishtey scheme, initiated in 2018 and benefiting approximately 23,000 road accident victims, needed to be reactivated.

The Supreme Court requested the Lieutenant Governor to explain his stand on the dispute with the Delhi government over the Farishte scheme.
