In Kolkata, a 63-year-old woman named Manju Das, who had multiple comorbidities and had tested positive for COVID-19, passed away at Beliaghata ID Hospital on Sunday. Despite her COVID-positive status, the state health department has not officially classified her death as a COVID-related case. As per official records, only one death has been attributed to Covid during the current spike.
Manju Das, a resident of Dum Dum, was admitted to the hospital on January 8 in a serious condition. She had been battling several health issues, including diabetes, chronic liver problems, and kidney issues. While being treated, doctors discovered that she was also Covid-positive. The cause of her death, as stated by doctors, was multi-organ failure.
