On Tuesday, the local civic authorities in Mira Road, near Mumbai, utilized bulldozers to demolish illegal structures and encroachments, responding to the violence that erupted in the area during a Ram Temple rally. The government, led by Eknath Shinde, asserted that the action targeted illegal shops and houses where stones were thrown at a procession led by Hindus on Monday. Significantly, the Mira Bhaindar Municipal Corporation's demolition occurred a day after Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis issued a stern warning of strict measures against rioters.
