WATCH: Samsung mocks Apple's controversial iPad Pro ad.
Samsung mocks Apple's iPad Pro ad with "Creativity cannot be crushed" message. Continues history of targeting competitor.
When it comes to poking fun at Apple, Samsung has always been bold. Once again, Samsung has taken a swipe at Apple through a new advertisement that parodies Apple’s recent iPad Pro commercial.
Apple's advertisement stirred controversy by depicting various creative tools being flattened by a hydraulic press, aiming to highlight the iPad Pro's versatility and creative potential. However, Apple faced backlash for its "Crushed" ad, with many interpreting it as a symbol of technology stifling creativity.
So, what's Samsung's response? In a 43-second spot, Samsung's message is clear: "Creativity cannot be squashed." The ad features a woman navigating through the aftermath of Apple's hydraulic press destruction. Among the wreckage, she discovers a heavily damaged guitar, which she then picks up and begins to play. The camera reveals that she's reading musical notes on the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Samsung's underlying message is that while instruments may be crushed, creativity cannot. This move by Samsung echoes its past strategies of taking aim at its primary competitor.
In a similar vein, a recent Samsung ad titled "Buckle Up" aired just before Apple's iPhone 14 launch, showcasing Samsung's foldable phones and superior camera features, subtly suggesting that iPhone users might be missing out. During the FIFA World Cup 2022, Samsung further jabbed at Apple for its absence in the foldable phone market with an ad featuring a stadium filled with fans cheering, formed entirely by Galaxy Z Flip4 phones.
