Dharmendra and Hema Malini tied the knot in the year 1980. Their journey as a couple spans over four decades, and their daughters - Esha Deol and Ahana Deol - have grown into adulthood. Recently, Esha Deol has been actively sharing posts on social media, expressing her affection for her father. Dharmendra himself recently posted, mentioning his inability to stay connected with everyone due to his health issues. In a recent interview, Esha Deol openly discussed the deep emotional connection she shares with her father.
In an interview with Bombay Times, Esha Deol openly expressed her strong emotional bond with Dharmendra. She revealed that they share a deep attachment and have similar tastes. According to her, Dharmendra understands her without the need for extensive communication. Esha mentioned her emotional and protective connection with her father, saying, "We are quite attached and share almost everything. Our choices are quite similar. He understands me without me saying much. I get very emotional when it comes to him and am extremely possessive of him." Esha Deol also added a touch of fun to the conversation, revealing that she shops online for her father and humorously referred to herself as his 'professional online shopper'.
When questioned about Dharmendra's initial opposition to her decision to join the Bollywood industry, Esha Deol attributed it to his orthodox Punjabi upbringing. She explained that his concerns were a manifestation of his protective nature as a father. She noted that despite the initial concerns, everything eventually fell into place. Esha also spoke about her upbringing among strong women, which inspired her to become financially independent from a young age. She began earning at 18 and emphasized her determination to carry on this tradition. Furthermore, she stated that she would not interfere with the decisions made by her own children, allowing them the freedom to choose their paths.
