Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced Monday its intention to establish data centers in Saudi Arabia by 2026, with a planned investment exceeding $5.3 billion. The upcoming cloud region aims to provide customers with secure content storage and efficient workload execution, emphasizing enhanced speed for users. This move aligns with Amazon's strategy, along with cloud rivals Google-parent Alphabet and Microsoft, to boost investments, particularly in data centers, to support the increasing adoption of artificial intelligence technologies. AWS already serves notable regional clients, including Saudi Telecom Company SJSC, Seera Holding, and Mobily, demonstrating its existing regional impact.
