Previously, Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, hinted at a grand celebration of the festival to honour the deity. He remarked, "This year, Holi is being celebrated with great reverence for Lord Ram. Just as Lord Ram incarnated in Ayodhya, the remarkable turnout of devotees for his darshan after the consecration ceremony this year creates a wonderful atmosphere." Das also mentioned the tradition of applying 'gulal' or coloured powder and offering delicacies like 'kachori,' 'gujiya,' 'puri,' and 'kheer' to the deity, with 'prasad' being distributed among devotees. The eve of Holi witnessed a large influx of devotees at Ayodhya's Ram Temple, as depicted in the images shared by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, participating in Holi celebrations in Ahmedabad, emphasized the significance of this year's Holi for devotees of Lord Ram worldwide.
"Holi symbolizes the victory of truth over falsehood...It's also a festival of equality, where everyone, regardless of their status, gets covered in colours, obscuring distinctions," Shah stated. "Today, as the entire nation celebrates Holi, I extend my warm wishes to all citizens. For devotees of Lord Ram worldwide, this Holi holds special significance...Today, Raghuvir is celebrating Holi in Awadh, bringing immense joy to us all," he added.
