Congress releases 6th list of candidates for Lok Sabha polls.
With this announcement, the party has nominated a sum of 190 candidates for the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections commencing on April 19th.
On Monday, the Congress unveiled its sixth roster of five contenders for the Lok Sabha elections. Among them, Prahlad Gunjal emerges as the candidate for Kota, poised to challenge the incumbent Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Additionally, the Congress nominated Ramchandra Choudhary for Ajmer, Sudarshan Rawat for Rajsamand, Damodar Gurjar for Bhilwara, and C. Robert Bruce for Tirunelveli.
Gunjal officially joined the Congress in Jaipur last Thursday, in the presence of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Rajasthan Congress Chief Govind Singh Dotasra. Notably, Gunjal, a former MLA from Kota North, brings considerable influence, especially in the Hadoti region, despite his loss in the previous assembly elections. His vocal leadership style is anticipated to bolster the Congress's standing in the area.
This announcement brings the total number of Congress candidates for the upcoming seven-phase Lok Sabha polls to 190. The polls are scheduled to commence on April 19 and conclude on June 4, with results expected thereafter.
