National Pet Day special| Shilpa Shetty Kundra: My dog Truffle is health conscious like me!
Shilpa Shetty Kundra's furry friends Truffle and Simmba steal the show in a National Pet Day shoot, with family anecdotes and laughter
Shilpa Shetty Kundra knows the struggle of getting her furry companions, Truffle and Simmba, to cooperate for a photo shoot. Truffle, her dog, reluctantly settles in her lap while Simmba, the cat, decides to explore elsewhere. As she joins us for a special National Pet Day shoot, Shilpa reminisces about the moment Truffle became part of their family. Growing up, Shilpa and her sister Shamita had a love for animals, often sneaking in abandoned pets despite their father's initial reluctance. One time, they even faced an ultimatum from their father: "Either the pet or me." Without hesitation, they chose the pet, a decision they still laugh about today. Amidst the anecdotes, Shilpa's daughter Samisha intervenes, playfully scolding Truffle for misbehaving. It's a moment of laughter and warmth, capturing the joys and challenges of pet ownership.
Kundra has had furry companions from a very young age. "Initially, my father didn't want a pet. I remember Shamita (Shetty, sister-actor) was so fond of animals that we would sneak in abandoned dogs, storks and all kinds of little creatures. Once, our father found three kittens in the attic and threatened us by saying, 'Either the pet or me'. My mother, Shamita and I just looked at each other and said, "The pet! That's something we laugh about to date," the 48-year-old shares, right before her daughter Samisha chimes in to keep Truffle in check. "Behave Truffle, otherwise I won't talk to you," the four-year-old says, and we all burst out laughing!
