If Pakistan Feels Incapable...": Rajnath Singh's Offer In War On Terror

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated India's offer to assist Pakistan in combating terrorist activities on its soil during an exclusive interview with news agency ANI. He emphasized that India stands ready to cooperate with Pakistan to combat terrorism if it feels incapable. However, he cautioned Pakistan that if it seeks to destabilize India through terrorism, it will face severe consequences.

Singh's resolute stance comes in the wake of his earlier warning to Pakistan, stating that India would pursue any terrorists attempting to escape across the border, even if it required entering Pakistan to eliminate them. This statement was made in response to a report by The Guardian accusing India of conducting targeted killings of terrorists in Pakistan.

The Indian government swiftly dismissed The Guardian's allegations as "false and malicious anti-India propaganda". The External Affairs Ministry clarified that targeted killings on foreign soil were not the policy of the Government of India, echoing statements made by S Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister.

The Guardian's report also referenced claims by Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, alleging involvement of Indian government "agents" in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canadian citizen and chief of the banned Khalistan Tiger Force. The ministry's denial of these allegations was highlighted in The Guardian's report, which suggested that the Indian government had implemented a policy of targeting individuals deemed hostile to India.

According to The Guardian, up to 20 such killings occurred since the Pulwama attack in February 2019, where 40 Indian soldiers lost their lives. Despite these claims, the Indian government reiterated its offer to assist Pakistan in combating terrorism, echoing similar offers made in 2018 and 2019.

Rajnath Singh emphasized that if Pakistan feels unable to address terrorism alone, it should seek assistance, warning that India possesses the capability to eliminate terrorist threats not only within its borders but also across borders if necessary. These statements underscore India's firm stance against terrorism and its willingness to collaborate with Pakistan to ensure regional security and stability.
