Taylor Swift reacts to "The Tortured Poets Department" reviews with fitting lyrics.

Taylor Swift is basking in the global triumph of her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," by responding to critical assessments. Over the weekend, the acclaimed artist, known for hits like "Karma," took to her Instagram stories to share apt lyrics from her 11th studio album in reaction to favorable reviews from prominent US and UK publications. This comes as one magazine opts to withhold a byline for a negative critique of TTPD due to previous violent threats.

In her responses, the "Cruel Summer" singer shared Rolling Stone magazine's review titled "Come for the Torture, Stay for the Poetry," pairing it with the lyric "And that’s the closest I’ve come to my heart exploding," from the album's title track. Swift adorned her message with a white heart emoji. Additionally, she quoted the lyrics "These chemicals hit me like white wine" from the song "The Alchemy" in acknowledgment of a glowing five-star review from UK tabloid The Times.

Swift further showcased The Independent's review, praising it as "Irresistible, country-hued tales of relationships past and present." She responded with another poignant lyric from the title track of the album - “everyone we know understands why it’s meant to be,” expressing gratitude for the positive critique.

The Fortnight singer addressed her reactions after Paste Magazine made headlines for removing the author's byline from a negative review of TTPD to mitigate "threats of violence." The magazine's statement on X, formerly Twitter, explained, "Editor’s Note: There is no byline on this review because, in 2019, when Paste reviewed ‘Lover,’ the writer was sent threats of violence from readers who disagreed with the work. We care more about the safety of our staff than a name attached to an article."
