China Launches Chang'e-6 Probe to Moon

Chief Designer of Phase Four of China's Lunar Exploration Program, Yu Dengyun, expressed joy over the successful launch, despite facing heavy rain. Launch Commander Liao Guorui shared in excitement, expressing hopes for the mission's success and the anticipation of witnessing the first sample return mission from the far side of the moon. The Chang'e 6 probe is set to land in the South Pole-Aitken Basin, a pre-selected area on the lunar far side. However, the mission is no easy feat, requiring meticulous planning and precise execution. Hu Zhenyu, Head of the Launch Site Engineering & Technology Team for the Chang'e-6 Mission, highlighted the complexity of the mission. It involves multiple stages, from launch to orbit, and back to Earth, with each step requiring utmost accuracy. One of the major challenges of the Chang'e 6 mission is the collection of samples from the lunar far side. This requires intricate engineering and complex flight control, making it the most challenging mission China has undertaken in this regard.
The mission involves eleven flight stages, including separations and couplings of the probe's components. Chang'e 6 will conduct on-site investigations and analysis of its landing area, as well as research on the collected samples from the lunar far side. Additionally, the probe carries multiple international scientific payloads, highlighting the collaborative nature of space exploration. The successful launch and commencement of the Chang'e 6 mission mark a significant milestone in China's space exploration efforts.
