In a recent development, R Ashoka, the Leader of the Opposition in Karnataka and a prominent BJP leader, has criticized former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over the issue of Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna's involvement in a scandal and subsequent escape. Prajwal Revanna, the Member of Parliament from Hassan constituency and son of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda's son HD Revanna, has been accused of sexual assault.

Despite these serious allegations, Prajwal Revanna is currently abroad in Germany. However, this has not stopped his bid for re-election in the Lok Sabha from Hassan.
