Latest Developments:
On Tuesday night, numerous bodies were placed on ice blocks inside the government hospital following the stampede. Outside, in the rain, mourning relatives waited to collect their loved ones' remains. Officials reported 121 deaths by Wednesday morning. The victims had gathered near Phulrai village in the Sikandrarau area for a 'Satsang' by Bhole Baba.
RSS and Bajrang Dal volunteers remained at the hospital throughout the afternoon, providing water and assisting the victims' relatives. They helped guide medical procedures and offered support to those in shock. Aniket, a Bajrang Dal volunteer, noted the shortage of ambulances, stating, "The number of ambulances was inadequate for the bodies we have seen here today."
Amidst the chaos, a woman was seen crying among several bodies in a truck, pleading for help to retrieve her daughter's body. The state government announced that Agra's additional director general of police and Aligarh's divisional commissioner are among those investigating the incident. They have been directed to submit their findings within 24 hours.
District Magistrate Ashish Kumar addressed the media, explaining that the event was a private function authorized by the sub-divisional magistrate. He stated that while the local administration ensured security outside the venue, the organizers were responsible for the internal arrangements.
