Vjaitra Air Mobility partners with Trouvé Innovation Hub to make hydrogen-based air taxi in India.
Vjaitra Air Mobility has partnered with Trouvé Innovation Hub Inc. to develop a hydrogen-powered 5-seater air taxi, aimed at enhancing intercity travel in India.
In a recent development towards the introduction of air taxis in India, Vjaitra Air Mobility has unveiled its strategic alliance with Trouvé Innovation Hub Inc. to create a hydrogen-powered 5-seater air taxi. Vjaitra Air Mobility, an Indian startup and division of drone manufacturer Darsh Dronobotics Systems, aims to develop air taxis that can travel up to 600 kilometers, catering to the need for efficient intercity travel between bustling metropolitan areas.
Under this collaboration, Trouvé Innovation Hub Inc. will assist Darsh Dronobotics Systems in securing funding to construct a full-scale prototype of the hydrogen air taxi, designed to offer an eco-friendly, quieter, and more efficient alternative to conventional transportation.
In addition to passenger transport, air taxi projects are being explored for uses such as ambulance services, VIP transport, and disaster recovery, which will enhance urban air mobility and emergency response capabilities. The Urban Air Mobility (UAM) initiative in India is already progressing, with the Aviation Ministry establishing several technical committees to assess feasibility and develop relevant policies.
Earlier this year, InterGlobe Enterprises and US-based Archer Aviation also announced plans to introduce an all-electric air taxi service in India by 2026.
