Citroën India has announced that its all-new Basalt, hailed as India’s first mainstream internal combustion engine (ICE) SUV Coupé, has achieved a notable 4-star rating in the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat NCAP) safety tests. This accomplishment highlights Citroën’s dedication to passenger safety, complementing the vehicle’s impressive driving experience, which features a striking design, spacious interior, and aerodynamic shape. The Basalt is built with a sturdy body structure to enhance protection during collisions. Since its launch, it has attracted attention from automotive enthusiasts and first-time buyers, making a significant impact in a competitive market.

The thorough testing process assessed the Basalt across various crash scenarios, highlighting its advanced safety features. With over 40 active and passive safety features as standard, the Basalt employs high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel to effectively absorb impacts and reduce cabin intrusion. Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Control, three-point seat belts with reminders for all seats, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. Together, these features provide a secure driving experience, reinforcing Citroën’s commitment to safety.
