Tensions escalated on Sunday evening when protesters targeted Allu Arjun's Hyderabad property, vandalizing his house in Jubilee Hills. Footage shared by Big TV shows demonstrators holding placards, throwing stones and tomatoes at the residence, smashing flower pots, and demanding that the actor financially support the family of the victim in the Pushpa 2 stampede incident.
According to the TV channel, the protesters identified themselves as members of the OU JAC (Joint Action Committee of Osmania University students) and called for Arjun to provide at least ₹1 crore to the victim’s family, citing the box office success of Pushpa 2: The Rule.
One protester told the channel, “We demand that Allu Arjun take responsibility for the late Revathi’s family. Why did so many celebrities visit him when he was released from jail, but none of them showed any concern when a woman lost her life? Now is the time for them to stand behind Revathi’s family and support Sri Teja. We will not allow him to go anywhere unless our demands are met.” It is unclear whether the actor was at home during the attack, but his staff reportedly took his children, Arha and Ayaan, to their maternal uncle’s house for safety.
Police were called to the scene, and eight individuals were arrested, according to Live Hindustan. Trade analysts, including Manobala and Ind Today, also reported that protesters burned an effigy of the actor. More details are awaited.
On December 4, Allu Arjun, accompanied by his family and co-star Rashmika Mandanna, visited Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. His appearance triggered a stampede that led to the tragic death of a woman and left her young son critically injured. Arjun was arrested in connection with the incident on December 13 but was granted interim bail by the High Court the following day. After his release, several film personalities, including Vijay Deverakonda, Venkatesh, Rana Daggubati, and Naga Chaitanya, visited him.
However, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has made new allegations, claiming that Arjun was informed of the woman's death while still at the theater. The Telangana police have supported this version, but the actor maintains that he was unaware of the incident until the following day.
