Following the outbreak of the fire, fire brigade officials promptly responded to the scene. The incident occurred at approximately 13:52 pm in the vicinity of the pipeline near Rustomjee Fire Station in Thane, as confirmed by the officials. According to their assessment, three unauthorized temporary huts near the pipeline were engulfed in flames, presenting a significant risk.

Upon receiving the information, disaster management officials, along with personnel from Kapurbawdi and Rabodi police, as well as fire brigade teams, swiftly arrived at the location, as reported by civic officials. During the incident, there was a reported blast of a mini gas cylinder, but other LPG gas cylinders were safely removed from the area. The fire, which originated in the huts, was successfully extinguished by 14:25, according to the officials.

It was emphasized that the civic body's Encroachment Department would take further action against the unauthorized hut constructions. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident, as stated by an official.
