Farmer leaders called for nationwide protests, 'Rail Roko', on March 10.
Farmers' protest: The 'Delhi Chalo' march is set to recommence on March 6, followed by a nationwide 'Rail Roko' on March 10.
Protesting farmers will resume their agitation with a nationwide 'Rail Roko' on March 10 from 12 pm to 4 pm, as announced by farm leaders Sarwan Singh Pandher and Jagjit Singh Dallewal on Sunday. These farmers, currently encamped at border points between Punjab and Haryana, will embark on a peaceful march towards Delhi on March 6, according to the farm leaders. Speaking from Punjab's Balloh village, the native place of a recently deceased farmer involved in clashes, Pandher and Dallewal emphasized that the farmers will escalate their agitation at existing protest sites until their demands are addressed by the Centre.
They encouraged farmers from distant states, unable to travel via tractor trolleys, to make their way to Delhi using trains or alternative modes of transportation. This approach, they explained, would also highlight whether the government permits entry for those farmers traveling without tractor trolleys. Pandher outlined that the agitation at Shambhu and Khanauri will persist and intensify, asserting that the protest will persist until the demands are met. He urged all Punjab panchayats to pass resolutions supporting the farmers' demands, noting that the Centre is employing various tactics to impede their 'Delhi Chalo' march.
