Tragic accident in Tehri, Uttarakhand: car plunges into gorge, 3 dead, 11 injured.
On Sunday, tragedy struck in Tehri, Uttarakhand, claiming the lives of three individuals, including a woman, as their car plunged into a gorge. Eleven others sustained injuries in the incident, which occurred in the Tehri district. According to Gopal Dutt Bhatt, the SHO of Narendra Nagar, the mishap transpired near Duwakotidhar on the Gaja-Dandachali-Chamba motor road in Gaja Tehsil around 9 am that day.
SHO Bhatt reported that the vehicle, carrying 14 occupants and bound for Chamba, lost control and veered into a deep gorge. Dharamveer Aswal (45) and Ritika (22) were pronounced dead at the scene, while Jagveer Singh Rawat (40) succumbed to injuries at a Gaja hospital.
An official noted that one injured individual remains hospitalized in Gaja, while the others have been admitted to AIIMS Rishikesh.
Upon receiving the alert, the SDRF and local police promptly responded, aided by community members who assisted in recovering the bodies from the accident site.
