The Tata Sierra is scheduled for launch in the second half of 2025.
Tata Motors has confirmed that the Sierra SUV will launch in the second half of 2025, with both electric and ICE powertrain options.
Tata Motors is set to launch the Sierra in the second half of 2025, as confirmed in its latest investor presentation. The SUV will be offered with both all-electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) powertrain options.
Tata Motors has also confirmed that the Sierra EV will make its debut first, with the ICE variant to follow shortly thereafter. Both versions are expected to hit the market in the latter half of 2025. This launch strategy mirrors the approach used for the Curvv, where the EV variant debuted in August 2024, followed by the ICE version in September.
At the launch of the Curvv, Tata Motors introduced a new platform called ATLAS (Adaptive Tech Forward Lifestyle Architecture). This versatile platform supports multiple body styles, including SUVs, MPVs, and sedans. Additionally, as previously reported, the ATLAS platform has the capability to support 4X4 configurations, meaning the Sierra may offer a 4X4 system with its ICE variant in the future. If this happens, it would mark the first 4X4 ICE SUV from Tata since the Safari Storme, which was discontinued in 2020.
The Sierra EV is expected to be based on Tata's Gen2 EV platform, known as Acti.EV. This platform also underpins the Punch EV and the Curvv EV. While details remain unconfirmed, it's possible the Sierra EV will feature a dual-motor setup, similar to the Harrier EV, potentially offering all-wheel drive capabilities.
Before the Sierra, Tata Motors plans to launch the Harrier EV in the first quarter of 2025, which is expected to share some mechanical components with the Sierra EV.
